“…Of Course We Have Scampi!” Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Restaurant New York City
    American Recipes

Warning! Warning! Touristy restaurant review ahead Proceed with caution Warning! Warning! Forrest Gump is one of my favourite films. I jumped with unabashed joy when we walked past the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Restaurant in Times Square, New York. I had no idea that the restaurant existed and I was determined to dine there. Just to give it a go. Bubba's dream is alive! I usually try and stay away from tourist-driven places when on holidays but I couldn't help but giggle like a japanese school girl when I enter the premises. The restaurant looks like the Hard Rock Cafe for Forrest Gump paraphernalia. Downstairs is filled with merchandise from the film. T-shirts, shorts, caps, mugs, pens, photo frames are printed with tacky sayings and logos mostly taken from the film.   The restaurant was a little more tasteful and was themed more accurately to the film than the merchandise…

  • Magnolia Bakery – Greenwich Village, New York City
    American Restaurant Reviews

If you didn't know already, I am a HUGE fan of Sex and the City. Its humour, clever writing, tongue-in-cheek fashion and witty characters, captivated my imagination and perhaps is a large influence in my writing today. The one place that we visited and left a lasting impression with me was the…

  • Mars Hill Cafe – Music, Poetry, Photography
    American Restaurant Reviews

On the ever so popular Church Street in Parramatta, there are many places that can tickle ones fancy. There are big loud pubs and clubs, wine and dine restaurants, swish sport bars, hip cafes. Mars Hill Cafe sits quietly amongst them without much ado, it is the hidden gem amongst all the eateries. It describes itself as "a local music and art venue as well as a cool place to hang out. The cafe provides ethical coffee, affordable food, outdoor dining and performance spaces." This isn't far from the truth. Mars Hill Cafe would not be dissimiliar to any other cafe you would find on King St, Newtown. Its bohemian atmosphere and friendly staff makes it the most approachable eatery on Church st. It is host to many events such as: * Art Exhibitions * Music Acts * Poetry readings * Writer groups * and other social events Pizzaboy and…
